Tory was born and raised in Toronto, Ontario. He attended the University of Waterloo where he completed a dual program in Arts and Business Co-op, which focused on Communication Studies. Tory loved his time living in Waterloo during his undergraduate degree and is excited to return.
Tory attended law school at the University of Edinburgh in Scotland where he participated in moot debating and Model United Nations. He also worked at the Royal Bank of Scotland as a Financial Crime Associate throughout his studies. He enjoyed the opportunity to learn about the law in the United Kingdom and its influence on the Canadian legal system. Upon returning to Canada, Tory completed his Canadian accreditation and was called to the bar in the spring of 2021.
Tory started his own law firm where he practiced a combination of corporate, real estate, as well as wills and estates. He focused on establishing new businesses, contracts, and corporate restructurings. He has partnered with a number of small business centres to give Ask a Lawyer presentations about incorporations, business entities, and the implications of using AI for legal work.
In his free time, Tory loves going for walks with his rescue dog, Maple. He also enjoys watching American football (go Ravens!) and playing golf.
