Kelsy effectively advocates for clients, vigorously pushing for the most favourable and pragmatic outcome in their legal disputes, whether as a plaintiff or defendant. Her practice areas include construction law including liens, mortgage enforcement, corporate and commercial disputes, creditors’ rights and collection actions, contract disputes, employment matters, and insurance defence litigation.
Kelsy was called to the Ontario bar in June 2017 and sworn in as an attorney in the State of Michigan in August 2017. She articled with a full-service law firm in London, Ontario, where she worked in the general litigation department after being called to the bar. Kelsy joined Giffen LLP in the fall of 2020 as a litigation associate in the Corporate/Commercial Litigation department.
Kelsy graduated from Carleton University receiving a Bachelor of Arts Honours degree in Political Science. She attended law school in the dual program at the University of Windsor and University of Detroit Mercy, receiving her Juris Doctor from both universities in 2016.
Kelsy is a member of the Waterloo Region Law Association, Canadian/Ontario Bar Association, The Advocates’ Society, the State Bar of Michigan and the American Bar Association. She is actively involved in her community as the current President of Business Professional Women London, and a committed volunteer with Youth Opportunities Unlimited.
In her spare time, you might find Kelsy enjoying her passion for golf at one of the many courses throughout Ontario or experiencing live theatre when she can. She never turns down a good conversation about wine, loves to travel, personal fitness, watching hockey (Go Habs Go!) and spending time with family and friends.
